Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the nation against the backdrop of pressure on the US peace plan in recent days. In his address, the President emphasized that the country is currently at one of the most complex and critical stages in its history.
He said that Ukraine faces several difficult and responsible choices: the risk of losing dignity or a strategic partner, adopting a complex 28-point plan, or facing a harsh winter and other threats. According to Zelenskyy, now sharp and pressing signals are coming from Washington - requests to trust those who attacked Ukraine again require particularly difficult decisions.
The President said:
"We seem to be behaving calmly, but we are also actively carrying out practical work. Negotiations with American partners are being intensified - so that the enemy does not find an excuse that "Ukraine does not want peace." I will strive to ensure that the peace plan takes into account two important issues - the dignity and freedom of our people. Let the war stop, but let neither Ukraine, nor Europe, nor the world fall."
Zelenskyy also recalled that the Ukrainian army has been holding back one of the world's most powerful military formations for almost four years. The people are tired of war, everyone wants lasting peace. But, according to the president, even the strongest metal cannot withstand prolonged pressure - therefore, internal unity is crucial in the current process.
"The most frightening thing for Russia is the unity of Ukrainians. The support of my people is invaluable to me at a time when we are firmly approaching the path to peace. Politicians, citizens, we all must stop quarreling among ourselves and not indulge in five or ten political games. I believe that my people are by my side," Zelenskyy said.
He emphasized that the coming week will be challenging for Ukraine: external pressures, attempts to sow discord within the nation, and manipulations are expected to increase. The President emphasized that in such conditions, society should unite further and not allow the enemy's plans to materialize.
At the end of his address, Zelenskyy reiterated:
"We must unite to protect our peace, dignity, and freedom. I know that I am not alone - the Ukrainian people have always stood behind me."
