The German government officially lifted the arms embargo imposed on Israel in August. According to the DPA agency, the decision will take effect on November 24. This was stated by government spokesperson Stefan Cornelius.
According to him, restrictions on certain types of weapons have lost their significance in the current geopolitical situation. The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, effective October 10, was cited as one of the key factors in the decision.
Earlier, the military actions in Gaza caused serious dissatisfaction in the German public and were assessed as genocide. Following this, the government temporarily halted arms deliveries to Israel.
With the new decision, Berlin officials decided to lift the restrictions, taking into account the stabilization of the situation.
