A Russian missile strike on the eastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro killed four people and injured 40. Office buildings, cars, and shops were damaged. The city is about 100 km from the front line and has frequently been attacked since 2022.
The strike happened during peace talks. US special envoy Steve Witkoff will meet the Russian president in Moscow. On Sunday, the Ukrainian delegation met US officials in Florida. The meetings were useful, but some issues remain unresolved.
Russia demands withdrawal from the Donbass area, and Ukraine refuses. Zelensky accused Russia of ignoring efforts to end the war. Ukraine’s security guarantees, including possible NATO membership, are important, but Russia and Trump oppose this.
Zelensky arrived in Paris to meet the French president and will go to Ireland on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s internal situation has worsened: Zelensky’s chief of staff resigned, and two ministers were dismissed. Since the war began, thousands of soldiers and civilians have died, and more than seven million people have become refugees.
