Special Representative of the United States of America Steve Whitkoff landed at Vnukovo Airport. He most likely came to Moscow with Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. The visit of Whitkoff and Kushner to Russia indicates the beginning of direct dialogue to stop the war in Ukraine. They will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the second half of the meeting is expected to take place. These negotiations are taking place after the recent meetings of the US and Ukrainian delegations in Florida.
After those meetings, President Donald Trump assessed the possibility of reaching an agreement between Russia and Ukraine as "good." Whitkoff and Kushner's joint visit to Moscow signifies that the US has strengthened direct dialogue with Russia and that the Trump administration is seeking new diplomatic channels to stop the war in Ukraine.
It is hoped that this visit will contribute to the further strengthening of relations between the US and Russia, thereby taking new progressive steps towards ending the war in Ukraine.
