Turkey: "The situation in southern Syria is the biggest source of danger"

Turkish officials are watching with great concern the escalating situation in southern Syria. This was stated by the country's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

According to him, if the region becomes more unstable, this could seriously affect security not only for Syria but for the entire region.

"Stabilization of the situation in southern Syria is of great importance. Currently, our main concern is the possibility of Israeli intervention spreading here," Fidan said.

The Minister emphasized that establishing effective control over the regions in the region is one of the important tasks:

"This is relevant not only for Syria, but also for the security of Iraq and Jordan. We support achieving stability through dialogue, peace, and compromise."

Fidan also recalled that armed groups PYD/YPG in Syria are receiving various forms of aid from Israel:

"This has been the case for many years. If someone wants to wage an ideological struggle, they must choose a political path. If they continue to operate with weapons, they will certainly receive an appropriate response," the minister said.
