Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s wealth reached $749 billion on Friday after the Delaware Supreme Court reinstated stock options worth $139 billion. This package was originally approved in 2018 and was canceled by a lower court two years ago.
The Delaware Supreme Court said that the 2024 decision to cancel the pay package was unfair to Musk. In addition, this week Musk became the first person to surpass $600 billion in wealth.
In November, Tesla shareholders approved a $1 trillion pay plan for Musk. This is the largest pay package in the company’s history, and investors supported Musk’s plans to develop the company.
Currently, Musk’s wealth is about $500 billion more than Google co-founder Larry Page. According to Forbes’ billionaires list, this makes Musk the richest person in the world.
