Saudi Arabia carried out an airstrike on a port in Yemen

On December 30, Saudi Arabia carried out an airstrike on the port of Mukalla in southern Yemen. Saudi officials said the attack was linked to the delivery of weapons for separatist forces. The weapons were reportedly transported by ships arriving from the UAE port of Fujairah.

According to the Saudi state news agency, the weapons and military equipment delivered to the port posed a threat to regional security. For this reason, coalition air forces conducted a limited military operation. The military stated that the strike was carried out at night to avoid harm to civilians.

So far, there is no information about casualties resulting from the attack. Some sources suggest the strike may be linked to a cargo ship named “Greenland.” Reports indicate the ship was previously in Fujairah and later arrived in Mukalla. UAE officials have not yet commented on the incident.

The situation indicates rising tensions between Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Experts say this could further complicate the situation in Yemen.
