Russia's massive drone attack on Kyiv: casualties, fires, outages

On the night of Friday, January 9, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a massive drone attack on Kyiv. So far, it is reported that at least 4 people have died and 19 have been injured.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko stated that a doctor (an ambulance worker) was among the deceased. It was reported that when he arrived in the Darnytsia district on call, a drone crashed into a multi-story residential building in the area.
Strikes and impacts were recorded in several areas of the city. In particular, in the Dniprovsky district, it was reported that the drone hit a multi-story building, and in the Desnyansky district, a fire broke out in the area of a shopping center. In the Pechersky district, it was reported that a 24-story non-residential building was damaged.
According to Klitschko, disruptions in electricity and water supply are observed in Kyiv due to damage to critical infrastructure facilities.
The offensive was not limited to the capital. Local authorities also reported that an important infrastructure facility was damaged as a result of the impact in the Lviv region.
It is noted that some monitoring channels reported "unusual activity" around the Russian test site "Kapustin Yar" a few hours before the attack. The Ukrainian Air Force also reported that the missile launched towards Lviv was moving at a speed of 13,000 km/h, but the use of "Oreshnik" has not yet been officially confirmed - the exact type of missile will be known after a thorough examination of the debris.
In short, the night attack on January 9th caused serious consequences both in Kyiv and in the western regions: there were casualties, fires were observed, and infrastructure disruptions occurred. Now the most important thing is to accelerate rescue operations, determine the extent of damage, and ensure the safety of the population.
