The launch of “Imam AI” is being planned

A new initiative on the use of artificial intelligence in the religious and educational sphere is being discussed in Kazakhstan. The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan has announced plans to develop and introduce a mobile application called “Imam AI”, designed to answer religious questions.

According to Orda.kz, the Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan, Nauryzbay Haji Tanganuly, stated that the application is planned to be launched in 2026. It is noted that “Imam AI” is expected to rely on reliable religious sources and provide fast and accurate responses to users’ inquiries.

The statement emphasizes that in modern conditions it is important to implement digital solutions in the religious sphere as well. The project aims to make it easier for citizens to obtain convenient and reliable information on religious matters, while also reducing the daily workload of imams and religious clerics.

It should be recalled that the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in his New Year address, declared 2026 the year of digitalization and development of artificial intelligence infrastructure. According to the president, the introduction of advanced technologies will help increase the country’s potential in various areas.

It is worth noting that earlier the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan expressed its position regarding asking religious questions to artificial intelligence.
