The world's first 10-person flying taxi flew successfully

Yesterday, February 10, the Chinese company Fengfei Aviation Technology successfully tested the world's largest V5000 eVTOL (electric power vertical takeoff and landing device). The weight of the device is equal to 5 tons. This was reported by "Gizmochina."

According to reports, the taxi smoothly transitioned from vertical ascent to horizontal flight from Kun Shan base in Jiangsu province, fully demonstrating its technical capabilities. The project is being evaluated not just as an experiment, but as part of a strategy to reduce traffic congestion within the city and surpass Western countries in the field of air transport.

The engineers equipped the device with 20 engines. Even if some engines fail, the V5000 can continue its safe flight. The passenger carrier variant - V5000 Matrix has a capacity of 10 people. The device can cover a distance of 1500 km in hybrid mode (250 km in pure electricity), which serves to provide fast and environmentally friendly transport to areas far from the city center.

International aviation experts assess this test as a "big step." Until now, eVTOLs usually carried no more than 6 passengers. The V5000, with a capacity of 10 passengers, began the era of air public transport.
