A new blow to the Iranian leadership has escalated the conflict into an even more dangerous phase
US President Donald Trump's latest harsh statement exacerbated the tense situation in the Middle East. According to him, the new composition of the Iranian leadership has received another powerful blow, and the consequences of this could be quite significant. However, the American leader, as always, stopped at the most interesting part of the conversation and did not disclose to whom or at what point the strike was directed.
Against the backdrop of this statement, one thing is clear: Washington's rhetoric is becoming increasingly harsh. Trump has previously stated he has no intention of halting the operation against Iran, but in recent statements, he has offered various explanations for the purpose of the war. Therefore, each of his new statements generates even greater interest and concern in the international arena.
As a reminder, the US-Israel joint operation, which began on February 28th, dealt a heavy blow to Iran's top leadership. It was as a result of these attacks that the supreme leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, was killed, and this event brought the issue of succession of power within the country to a very sharp and delicate point.
On March 3, the conflict moved to a new stage. Reports have circulated that an air missile strike was carried out on a building connected to the Expert Council in the city of Qum. This structure will play a decisive role in the selection of a new supreme leader in Iran. Therefore, this attack is assessed not as a simple military episode, but as pressure directed directly at the political center.
Some Iranian sources suggest that high-ranking religious and political figures may have been present in the building during the strike. At the same time, preliminary reports indicate that people were evacuated in advance, and no casualties were recorded among the council members. However, this information has not yet been fully confirmed by all independent international sources.
One thing is clear: the damage to the building is substantial, and this attack could intensify the psychological and organizational pressure on the process of power transition in Iran. Trump's words about the "worst scenario" sound even more alarming because they are being said against the backdrop of this very scene.
In short, this is no longer just another blow. This is a signal of great geopolitical significance, given before the formation of a new political order in Iran. Now everyone's attention is focused on one question: will this pressure weaken Tehran even more or, conversely, exacerbate the conflict?
