The US spends about $3 million to destroy each Shahed-136 drone, while Iran produces up to 500 such devices per day and has more than 80,000 in stock, notes Beijing University professor Jiang Xueqin.
According to Bloomberg, Shahed-type suicide drones have been effective before: they destroyed Patriot air defense systems worth $4 million. This indicates Iran's strategy of putting significant pressure on defense systems with relatively inexpensive but mass-produced drones.
According to experts' calculations, countries like the USA will require significant expenses and resources not only financially but also technologically to respond to the threat of such drones. Therefore, each destroyed drone is costing not only materially, but also strategically.
This situation is an important signal for global military balance and plans to develop air defense.
