New miracle from Chinese engineers: the world's longest mountain escalator

The arduous ascent process for people living in China's mountainous regions has now become history. A true masterpiece of engineering has been erected in the Ushan district near the city of Chunsin. Zamin.uz presents the details of this unique structure, which has created convenience for residents and tourists of the oasis.
For many years, meeting basic household needs - going to work or shopping - has been a real challenge for residents of the Ushan district. People spent at least an hour each time climbing up steep cliffs and winding paths, like snake trails.
February 2026: Historic Opening
At the end of February 2026, while Chinese New Year celebrations were underway, the Wushan Goddess Escalator complex was ceremoniously commissioned. Opened in an atmosphere decorated with dragon dances and traditional red lanterns, this system became not only a vehicle, but also a new symbol of the region.
Technical indicators and records
This complex set a new world record, surpassing the world's most famous "Crown Escalator" system in terms of its size and construction complexity.
Main characteristics of the structure:
- Total length - 905 meters;
- Ascension height - 242 meters (equal to an 80-story building);
- Travel time - reduced from 60 minutes to 20 minutes;
- Construction style - "Mountain embracing" construction.
Engineering solution and panoramic view
A distinctive feature of the system is that it is not just a straight ascent, but a complex of escalators, elevators, and pedestrian walkways that replicate the natural curves of the terrain.
- Transparent facade: The entire structure is surrounded by durable glass panels, allowing passengers to enjoy the beautiful views of the famous Usya Gorge.
- Durability: The infrastructure is designed to withstand the steep terrain of Chunsin and the unexpected weather conditions.
It is interesting: the city of Chunsin, called a "mountain metropolis," has been amazing the world with the fact that its infrastructure is developed not on a flat terrain, but on several vertical levels.The launch of this project not only made the lifestyle of the local population easier, but also contributed to a sharp increase in the flow of tourists to the region. Now climbing the mountain peak has transformed from a tiring process into a pleasant journey.
Would you have dared to walk on such a glass-covered escalator that climbs 80 stories high? Does such a height frighten or excite you?
