According to The Straits Times, Pyongyang's moderate approach may be due to international pressure, sanctions or global strategic considerations. Such changes are likely to indicate a reshaping of North Korea's political course towards Iran.
This information was reported by representatives of the South Korean National Intelligence Service at a briefing for lawmakers. The lawmakers then shared intelligence with reporters.
Analysts say that while ties between North Korea and Iran have previously included military-technical cooperation, Pyongyang's caution may be due to international pressure, sanctions, or decisions aimed at its own strategic interests.
