According to the Tasnim news agency, a high-precision American GBU-39 SDB air bomb was found unexploded in the Iranian province of Lorestan and handed over to the country's military.
It is reported that these ammunition were identified by a unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) located in Lorestan and carefully neutralized with the participation of specialists. It is noteworthy that the bomb has survived without serious damage, which further expands the possibilities for its study.
According to experts, modern weapons such as the GBU-39 SDB are distinguished by high precision, compact size, and a modern aiming system. Therefore, its acquisition in its entirety could become a technically important source of information for Iran.
According to reports, the US side is concerned about such cases and considers the possibility of modern weapon technologies passing into the hands of other countries as a serious threat. Because by studying such weapons, it becomes possible to identify their operating principles and weaknesses.
