Zelenskiy reveals what the 90 billion euros provided by the EU will be used for

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy has disclosed which sectors will receive the first part of the major financial assistance allocated by the European Union. He said the package is worth 90 billion euros and that the funds will be absorbed in stages.

According to Zelenskiy, the first tranche will first of all serve to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities. In particular, it will be directed toward developing domestic production — manufacturing drones, modern military technologies and other strategic tools.

This way, Ukraine aims to become less dependent on external factors in defending itself.

The second key area is strengthening the energy system. It is noted that, together with local and central budget resources, plans are in place to protect infrastructure to the maximum extent ahead of next winter. Several billion euros are earmarked for this purpose.

At the same time, the president said agreements have also been reached on diesel fuel supplies, which are of vital importance for the Ukrainian army and economy. According to him, effective cooperation has been established with the Middle East and the Caucasus region.

In short, the European Union’s financial assistance is seen by Ukraine not only as support, but also as a step toward strategic independence. The main question now is how effectively these resources will be used.
