A new trend is taking shape on the modern battlefield — technology is gradually replacing people. According to The Independent, the Ukrainian army is increasingly using ground-based unmanned robots on the front line instead of infantry soldiers.

In particular, the 3rd Assault Brigade plans to replace about 30% of its infantry forces with robotic vehicles in order to reduce personnel losses. Behind this decision lies a very simple but important logic: robots should be used in places where human lives are at risk.

“A soldier’s life is priceless. A robot does not bleed. This is a new stage of war,” one of the defenders said.

At present, such devices have already fundamentally changed the logistics system on the front line. If an ordinary infantry soldier can carry an average of 20 kilograms, ground drones can deliver loads weighing from 200 kilograms to 600 kilograms to the front line. This increases supply efficiency several times over.

However, experts are also drawing attention to the negative sides of this process. In particular, the operator's physical distance from the battlefield is raising serious questions about responsibility for the use of weapons and moral boundaries.

In short, robots are changing warfare — quickly, coldly and on the basis of calculation. But how far this shift will push the human factor to the sidelines remains an open question.
