Putin informed his American counterpart that Russia is prepared to declare a temporary truce with Ukraine in connection with May 9 — Victory Day. This initiative was proposed in a manner similar to the short-term peace plan previously announced for the Easter holiday.
It is reported that Trump assessed this idea positively and actively supported it. He also emphasized that the possibility of reaching an agreement to resolve the conflict in Ukraine is close.
