Teenager suspected of raping and murdering his sister arrested

On April 27 of this year, a 16-year-old teenager was arrested in the United States on suspicion of raping and murdering his 18-year-old stepsister aboard a Carnival Cruise ship. This was reported by ABC News.
It has been revealed that 18-year-old Anna Kepner was traveling on the Carnival Horizon ship in November 2025 with family members, including Hudson. After the ship was scheduled to return to Florida, her body was discovered under a bed in the cabin where she had been staying with Hudson and another teenager.
According to reports, it was determined that Anna Kepner's death was caused by mechanical asphyxia, meaning the obstruction of airways due to external force or pressure. Kepner's father, Christopher Kepner, issued a statement expressing that the family trusts the judicial system to uncover the truth in a fair and transparent manner.
According to a ruling issued by U.S. District Judge Beth Bloom on April 27, the trial for Timothy Hudson—facing charges of first-degree murder and aggravated sexual abuse—is scheduled to begin on June 1 in Miami.
It is noted that the 16-year-old was initially charged as a juvenile. The suspect entered a written plea of not guilty last week. It was also highlighted that the prosecution of minors in federal court is a rare occurrence.
For reference, Anna Kepner attended the Temple Christian School in Titusville. She was a cheerleader during her time in high school.
