World War II was a severe trial that affected the fate of millions. Central Asian countries also suffered great losses in this massacre. Today, the number of war participants is decreasing year by year, and the attention paid to them is of particular importance. Dzen reported on this.
As of 2026, there are 60 war veterans living in Uzbekistan. On the occasion of May 9 — Day of Remembrance and Honor, a one-time reward of 30 million soums was allocated to each of them. It is noted that in previous years this amount was even higher, in some cases reaching up to 10 thousand dollars.
In Kazakhstan, there are currently 83 witnesses of World War II left. On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the victory, they were given 5 million tenge (over 10 thousand dollars). Additional support is also provided by the state through monthly allowances and medical services.
In Kyrgyzstan, 24 war veterans remain. According to the decision of the head of state, a one-time payment of 200 thousand soms (approximately over 27 million soums) was made to each of them.
In Tajikistan, the number of war participants is very small — only 8 people. They were given a cash reward of 50 thousand somoni (approximately 64 million soums). At the same time, special financial assistance was also allocated to those who worked on the home front.
In Turkmenistan, exact figures have not been disclosed. According to some reports, veterans were given small amounts of money in previous years, but the main focus was on gifts and festive events.
In general, Central Asian countries are trying to support war veterans. However, as the figures show, not only the number of veterans but also the funds allocated to them vary significantly depending on the country.
