Iran has agreed to abandon nuclear weapons. This was announced by US President Donald Trump during an interview with Fox News.
The White House leader noted that the parties are on the verge of reaching a mutually beneficial agreement. However, he stated he is in no rush to secure the best possible terms, which is why the negotiation process is moving slowly.
At the same time, the US President also claimed that Iran has agreed to give up nuclear weapons.
Trump explained that previously, the Iranian side stated it would not develop nuclear weapons. Later, after clarifying the possibility of acquiring them, the statement was amended. Now, according to it, Iran "will not develop military weapons and will not acquire them in any way."
This statement was made against the backdrop of US-Iran relations and nuclear program negotiations, which are being closely watched by the international community.
