Volkswagen unveils 2026 Tiguan Turbo with 268 hp

Volkswagen has introduced the 2026 Tiguan Turbo crossover, reports iXBT.com.

The vehicle features a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder EA888 evo5 turbocharged engine producing 268 hp and 350 Nm of torque. That’s 67 hp more than the base model with 201 hp, and it even surpasses the Golf GTI’s 241 hp.

To achieve this boost, engineers installed a larger turbo, reinforced pistons and rods, and implemented variable valve lift.

In the SEL R-Line trim, the Tiguan Turbo comes with 4Motion all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The suspension and brakes remain unchanged to preserve the crossover’s family-friendly character.

Visually, it stands out with a black roof, 20-inch wheels, and illuminated front and rear logos. It's available in three new colors, including Avocado Green Pearl.

Inside, the Tiguan Turbo offers Varenna leather seats with massage and ventilation, a 15-inch infotainment touchscreen, Harman Kardon audio, American walnut trim, tri-zone climate control, a head-up display, and heated rear seats.

Sales will begin in fall 2025, with a starting price of around $48,000.
