Volkswagen to lay off 20,000 workers in Germany
Volkswagen will lay off 20,000 employees in Germany as part of an early exit agreement, according to auto.mail.ru, citing Reuters and Bild.

The news was revealed during a works council meeting at VW’s headquarters in Wolfsburg, where the company is headquartered.

Volkswagen plans to cut up to 35,000 jobs in Germany by 2030 as part of a cost-reduction strategy.

In April, the company reported that its profit dropped by 40% in Q1 2025, and warned that its full-year performance might hit the lower end of forecasts.
