Yandex spoke about the successful testing of its driverless car: the car was able to move along the Moscow - Tula - Moscow route without the driver's participation.
Despite the fact that the driver was in the cabin, he did not participate in the traffic. The trained neural network predicted the behavior of other drivers, helping to yield and bypass areas where roadworks were being carried out.
This is not Yandex's first success in the field of driverless transportation: since May 2025, the company has been using autonomous trucks for commercial transportation - the vehicles have already covered a distance of 130,000 kilometers.
The company also announced plans to produce 20,000 delivery robots by the end of 2027. This will be a new generation of robots with lower production costs, a new suspension, and an updated lidar.
The first models of the new generation will appear in November 2025. Due to the reduction in cost, delivery using robots will be cheaper than courier services.
