Chinese electric vehicles set a record in the European market

Chinese automakers are rapidly expanding their influence in the European electric vehicle market. In April, sales of electric vehicles from Chinese brands more than doubled, reaching 38,000 units.

This result has allowed Chinese companies to capture more than 15% of the European electric vehicle market. According to Bloomberg, Chinese automakers are approaching a 10% share not only in the EV segment but also in the total volume of the European automotive market.

Chinese brands are particularly active in the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) segment, where their market share has reached nearly 29%. This indicates growing interest among European buyers in Chinese-made hybrids and electric vehicles.

According to experts, the aggressive entry of Chinese automakers into the European market is driven by intense price competition and shrinking profit margins in their domestic market. Consequently, manufacturers are seeking growth in new markets, with Europe becoming one of their most important destinations.
