The creators of the popular animated series “South Park,” Trey Parker and Matt Stone, have signed a $1.5 billion deal with Paramount Studios, Pravilamag reports.
According to the information, under the five-year deal, $300 million will be paid annually. The agreement includes the production of 50 new episodes of “South Park.” Additionally, all previous 26 seasons will be made available on the Paramount+ streaming platform for the first time.
“We’re grateful for this opportunity and deeply appreciate the trust placed in us,” said Parker. According to him, they intend to take the animated series to a new level, continue it, and “create something special.”
Previously, the media reported that negotiations between Parker and Stone with Warner Bros. Discovery and Netflix fell through due to interference from new company president Jeff Shell. However, the deal was finalized thanks to the involvement of Paramount Global executives Chris McCarthy and Keyes Hill-Edgar.
The premiere of the 27th season was initially scheduled for July 9, 2025, but it is now set to be released on July 23. The trailer has already been released and features parody scenes involving P. Diddy, court trials, and even the Canadian army.
