Disney and Pixar are bringing back the Cars universe with a new series

Disney and Pixar are planning to release a new animated series, Cars: Lightning Races, in 2027. The project will bring back beloved characters from the famous franchise while also introducing exciting new ones, reports Peopletalk.

At the heart of the story are Lightning McQueen and his loyal friend Mater. They will be joined by two new characters: speed-loving drag car Pipes and mud-loving monster truck Miles. As always, the animated series will focus on friendship and thrilling adventures, while keeping its signature playful atmosphere.

It is noted that with drag racing, monster truck competitions, and the unique charm of Radiator Springs, this series could become one of the biggest Disney Jr. animated projects in recent years.
