The “Bunyodkor” stadium in Tashkent turned into a real show venue on August 7. American megastar Jennifer Lopez, a dream for millions of fans, performed a live concert for the first time on the stage of Uzbekistan’s capital. Both before the show and during it, fans actively shared photos with tickets in their hands and the festive atmosphere around the stadium on social media.
A total of 25,000 tickets were sold for the lavish event, with almost 15,000 — that is, about 68–70 percent — belonging to foreigners, as reported by the “Akhborot 24” program.
According to official figures, Russian citizens purchased 7,500 tickets, while over 2,500 were bought by guests from neighboring Kazakhstan. The remaining few thousand tickets went to tourists from Europe and other continents.
Ticket prices for the concert ranged from 1 million to 4.2 million soums. It is said that most foreign fans came not only for the concert, but also to travel around Uzbekistan as part of special 4–6 day tour packages. This became a major promotion and economic benefit for the country’s tourism sector.
The evening, held under the harmony of light and music beneath the Tashkent sky, will undoubtedly remain a bright page not only in the memories of participants, but also in the city’s history.
