Tom Cruise was included in the Guinness Book of Records for one of the stunts he performed during the filming of "Mission Impossible: Final Account." The actor jumped 16 times with a pre-lighted parachute. This was reported by the Hollywood Reporter.
In one of the film scenes, Tom Cruise's character, Ethan Hunt, takes a spare parachute with him and jumps from a damaged plane. His main parachute burns, so the hero cuts the ropes, and at the last second, the backup parachute opens.
The stunt was performed live by Cruz: he jumped 16 times from a helicopter at an altitude of more than 2,000 meters in the Dragon Mountains of South Africa. Each time his parachute was saturated with flammable liquid and ignited.
According to the Guinness Book of Records, he became the record holder in the "most burning parachute jump by a single person" category.
"Tom Cruise seems to have been created for records. He once again proved himself to be a boundless actor," says Craig Glendey, editor-in-chief of the Guinness World Records.
