Bollywood's legendary couple, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, participated in the opening of a bronze statue in London, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the film "The Unstolen Bride," which is considered a film classic. The statue in Leicester Square features a famous dance scene by Raj and Simran, who made the film's history.
Previously, this corridor was filled with sculptures dedicated to the heroes of a number of famous films - such projects as "Harry Potter," "Mary Poppins," "Paddington Adventures."
Akshay Vidhani, head of Yash Raj Films, and Ros Morgan, CEO of Heart of London Business Alliance, also attended the ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, Shahrukh Khan emphasized that the "unstolen bride" holds a special place in his personality.
"This film came from the heart. We wanted to tell a story about sincere love and how to overcome obstacles in its path. That's why the film has been loved and watched for 30 years," he said.
Kajol, meanwhile, described this moment as “our history coming alive once again” and noted that the film is watched with special affection across generations.
"Leicester Square" is a symbolic point for the film. Because in one of the first shots of "The Unstolen Bride," it was here that Raj and Simran lost each other and their paths crossed.
