A touching evening dedicated to the memory of Shirin Abdullaeva

On January 16, 2026, a memorial evening titled “The Unfinished Song” was held in the concert hall of the Union of Composers of Uzbekistan, dedicated to the late talented artist Shirin Abdullaeva, a recipient of the State Prize named after Zulfiya.

The event was organized to honor the bright memory of a young creative figure who made a worthy contribution to the development of national culture and to present her rich and meaningful artistic legacy to the wider public. The memorial evening was initiated by the Union of Composers of Uzbekistan and brought together artists, art scholars, representatives of state and public institutions, media professionals, and art enthusiasts.

The event opened with an introductory speech dedicated to the life and work of Shirin Abdullaeva. This was followed by a speech from Rustam Abdullaev, Chairman of the Union of Composers of Uzbekistan, who spoke in detail about the creation of the late artist’s works, their artistic value, and their place in contemporary music.

One of the most emotional moments of the evening was a spiritual memory shared by Rustam Abdullaev. According to him, Shirin Abdullaeva once appeared in his dream, playing the ney. This melody left a deep impression on the composer, and based on this musical idea, he personally composed the piece that was performed during the memorial evening. The work was premiered that night and was met with great emotion by the audience.

Family members and teachers of the late artist also took part in the event, sharing heartfelt memories. In particular, her mother spoke about her daughter’s unique talent, saying:

“Shirin possessed a special strength and boundless energy. She worked in various fields at the same time and always strove to perform every task with full dedication and responsibility.”

Several vivid examples of Shirin Abdullaeva’s creative potential were also highlighted. Notably, for a festive event held in China, she was tasked with preparing songs in eight different languages within a short period, successfully completing this responsible assignment in just 15 days. It was also emphasized that her songs were performed on stage in harmony with dance, turning music, movement, and image into a unified artistic work.

At the conclusion of the evening, deep respect was expressed for the memory of Shirin Abdullaeva, and it was particularly noted that the bright and indelible mark she left on national art would remain eternal.

For reference: Shirin Abdullaeva was born in 2005. Despite her short but meaningful creative career, she gained wide recognition as a singer and creator, winning the love of fans through a number of popular songs and her participation in international creative projects. In 2023, she was awarded the State Prize named after Zulfiya for her achievements in the field of art. Sadly, the talented artist passed away in 2025 at the age of 19.

The memorial evening “The Unfinished Song” was remembered as a profound expression of respect for Shirin Abdullaeva’s life devoted to art, her enduring talent, and the invaluable legacy she left in national culture.
