Actress Barno Teshaboyeva recalled an interesting and funny story related to her творчество during an interview on the show “O‘zimizning gap”.
According to her, the character of “Alfiya kampir” turned out to be so convincing that some elderly men believed she was a real old woman and even came to propose marriage.
“Not one, but two elderly men wanted to marry me. They even came to the television station to propose. About 20 years ago, an elderly poet from Kashkadarya wrote a special poem for me and insisted, ‘I will marry Alfiya kampir’,” the actress said.
According to Teshaboyeva, the directors and creative team had to explain the situation. They told the man that behind the character was a young actress and even took him to the editing room to show her.
“He was surprised and said, ‘Oh, sorry, she is even younger than my daughter,’ and left,” she recalled with a smile.
The actress also mentioned another case: “Another suitor came from the Fergana Valley. That was also many years ago.”
In conclusion, she added: “When I first appeared on screen as Alfiya kampir, I had many suitors.”
This story once again proves how deeply the actress embodied the role and how strongly it resonated with the audience.
