Fame and losses: truths from the life of Gulchehra Ibragimbekova

Gulchehra Ibragimbekova was born on December 24, 1951, in the city of Samarkand. There were five children in the family: four daughters and one son.

There have been many joyful and sorrowful moments in the actress’s life. Within a few years, she lost her mother, only brother, sister, and nephew. These losses became a great shock for her.

At the age of 20, the actress married her classmate Turgunbek Ibragimbekov. They had one son and two daughters. Her husband worked as a teacher at a culture college, and Gulchehra Ibragimbekova herself also taught there.

As an actress, Gulchehra Ibragimbekova has appeared in dozens of plays and films. She became known to audiences through her roles in theatrical performances, especially her role as Nazokat in the play “Parvona,” which brought her wide fame and many fans.

The actress is also remembered by fans for her role as a cruel mother-in-law in the 2004 film “Begona bahor”, directed by Ibrohim Rasulov.

Currently, she works at the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theatre. In 2021, the actress celebrated her 70th anniversary.

Gulchehra Ibragimbekova is a recipient of the “Mehnat Shuhrati” order.
