Research conducted by experts showed how having a dog at home affects children's health, writes Daily Mail.
Scientists took samples of house dust and observed children aged one to five. According to the results, children who had contact with dogs from infancy were found to be almost twice less likely to develop asthma.
Interestingly, such a positive effect was not observed in experiments with cats. Experts explain this condition by the microbiome that occurs with close contact with dogs. Previously, it was believed that all pets equally benefit a child's immune system.
