The issue of naming one of the streets in Tashkent after the first president of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, is being discussed.

The proposal was raised during a meeting between Tashkent City Mayor Shavkat Umurzakov and Turkey's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar.
Mutual relations and strategic cooperation
During the meeting, Shavkat Umurzakov noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey are developing steadily, noting that this process is the result of strategic cooperation established by the heads of state. He also particularly recognized the services of the Turkish diplomatic corps.

In turn, Olgan Bekar, noting that his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan is coming to an end, touched upon a number of issues discussed, including:
🔹 Expanding Turkish schools,
🔹 Naming one of the streets in Tashkent after Mustafa Kemal Ataturk,
🔹 Creating a Turkish park.
