A critical meeting on combating corruption in the energy sector was held in Samarkand with the participation of Deputy Prosecutor General Sh. Aminov. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.
As it was reported, the meeting was held on February 14. It was attended by employees of the Samarkand regional, district and city branches of the "Regional Electric Networks" and "Hududgaztaminot" joint-stock companies, as well as other officials.
At the meeting, a preventive measure of arrest was applied to 7 employees of supply enterprises accused of committing corruption crimes. The suspects were taken out in handcuffs during the meeting itself.
On February 15, the Kattakurgan District Criminal Court issued a ruling on the application of a preventive measure in the form of arrest against 4 employees of the “Qaradaryo” electricity supply enterprise. They may be among those arrested at the meeting.
In particular, by the court ruling, a preventive measure of arrest was applied to the lawyer O.K., inspector Y.N., supervisor S.N. and engineer Z.Z. of the “Qaradaryo” electricity supply enterprise. According to the court document, Y.N., S.N. and Z.Z. They formed a group and received 7 million soums and 200 US dollars in exchange for a positive resolution of a report drawn up for a citizen living in the Valijan neighborhood of the Kattakurgan district on the violation of the rules for using electricity.
Lawyer O.K. asked for 2.7 million soums for a positive resolution of a report drawn up for a citizen living in the Alijan neighborhood of the district, who was assessed 27 million soums in damages for illegally connecting to the network. He was caught with material evidence while receiving 2.7 million soums through a bribe.
