Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit on February 25.
He was met at Tashkent International Airport by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and other officials. After a short conversation, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, accompanied by Abdulla Aripov, went to the "New Uzbekistan" park and laid flowers at the foot of the Independence Monument.
The guest was given detailed information about the architectural solutions of the complex, as well as the essence and features of its composition. The complex made a deep impression on the Pakistani delegation.
What is the purpose of the visit?
Shahboz Sharif visited at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The agenda of the upcoming high-level talks includes issues of further development and expansion of Uzbek-Pakistani strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation.
The focus will be on joint plans to increase the volume of mutual trade, strengthen transport connectivity and realize transit potential, promote cooperation projects in the light and leather industries, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering and other sectors of the economy. Issues of intensification of cultural, humanitarian and tourism ties will also be considered. Views will be exchanged on pressing issues of international and regional importance.
At the end of the summit, a joint declaration and a number of bilateral documents are planned to be adopted.
As part of the business program of the visit, the leaders will also participate in the Uzbekistan-Pakistan Joint Business Forum.
