The State Security Service, in cooperation with customs authorities, conducted an emergency operation at the Navoi border customs post located in the Tashkent district of the Tashkent region.
During the operation, a Lacetti car traveling from our country to a neighboring country was stopped and inspected in the presence of witnesses. It was revealed that a cellophane package containing 874 thousand US dollars belonged to a citizen living in the Tashkent district, who was traveling as a passenger.
It turned out that he intended to transport this amount of money to Kazakhstan without declaring it, hiding it from customs control.
The operative measure was also continued, and during the inspection of the temporary residence of a citizen living in the capital, who collected these foreign currencies from traders in the markets of Tashkent and gave them to the woman, it was also revealed that there were 399 thousand 170 US dollars in cash prepared for future transportation to Kazakhstan.
During the operative measure, a total of 1 million 273 thousand 170 US dollars was seized as material evidence.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against these individuals under Article 25,182, Part 2, Clause “a” of the Criminal Code, and a preventive measure of arrest has been applied. Investigative measures are underway.
