An explosion of hydrogen sulfide occurred at the M-25 gas field
On March 27 of this year, a controlled release of hydrogen sulfide occurred at well No. 202 at the M-25 gas field, the Ministry of Energy reported.

It was noted that the well was lit in order to avoid harm to the environment and prevent air pollution.

No one was injured as a result of the incident. A brigade of the Ministry of Emergency Situations immediately arrived at the scene.

Representatives of a special headquarters established within the Ministry of Energy and other competent organizations also arrived at the scene to organize the work.

It is reported that all necessary measures are currently being taken using the necessary equipment and tools. Enhanced security measures are also being taken.

It is worth noting that the incident does not pose any threat to the population and the surrounding areas. The process is under full control of specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the State Inspection "Industrial and Technological Supervision", and the Uzbek Military Unit for the Prevention and Elimination of Open Oil and Gas Spills.

The cause of the incident and the fire are currently being investigated.

On September 1, 2024, during drilling work in well No. 604, located on the territory of the "Kolkamysh" MFE of the 25th Anniversary of Independence field in the Boysun district of the Surkhandarya region, hydrogen sulfide gas began to escape due to a technological process failure.

On September 17, 2024, it was reported that a high-pressure hydrogen sulfide gas leak was detected from the side of well No. 604. As a result of the incident, 4 people died and 11 were injured.
