Will the fine for "tinting" without a permit be reduced?

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has submitted for public discussion the draft law "On Amendments and Addenda to the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility".

The draft law proposes to supplement the Code of Administrative Responsibility with Article 126-1. According to it, drivers may be fined in the amount of 1 MOP (375 thousand soums) for using vehicles in violation of the requirements specified in the relevant permit for changing the color (tinting) of windows.

Currently, the use of vehicles with tinted or tinted windows without a permit is subject to a fine of 25 times the minimum wage (9 million 375 thousand soums).

Discussion of the draft law will continue until April 11.

It should be recalled that in July 2024, the Agency for Strategic Reforms called for an examination of the proportionality of administrative fines to the offense committed.
