Uzbek and Russian foreign ministers hold talks in Samarkand

Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held bilateral talks in Samarkand.

“Today, in Samarkand, we held a fruitful meeting with my colleague, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergei Lavrov, to discuss a wide range of issues of our multifaceted cooperation. Special attention was paid to the practical implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level,” Saidov wrote on the social network.

He noted that it was agreed to continue close cooperation between the foreign policy departments in implementing the instructions given by the leaders of the two states to strengthen allied relations and strategic partnership, develop political dialogue, expand trade and economic ties, deepen cultural and humanitarian ties, and continue close cooperation within multilateral structures.

“In addition, we placed special emphasis on expanding cooperation in education, innovations, infrastructure, regional security and other areas. "We discussed ways to encourage mutual investments and intensify business ties between Uzbekistan and Russia," Saidov concluded.
