Influential muftis and Islamic scholars gathered in Samarkand

An international scientific and practical conference on the topic "Maturidiyyah - the doctrine of tolerance, moderation and enlightenment" is being held in Samarkand, Sputnik Uzbekistan reported.

The event is attended by more than 70 muftis, influential Islamic scholars, state and public figures, researchers in the field of Islamic studies, historians, and representatives of the religious and educational sphere from more than 20 countries, including Egypt, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.

Presidential Advisor Ruslanbek Davletov read out the congratulatory message of the leader of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the participants of the international conference.

"It is commendable that the Maturidi school and teachings founded by our great compatriot have been a symbol of tolerance, moderation and enlightenment in faith for centuries," the congratulatory text says.

The conference is discussing the scientific heritage of Imam Maturidi, the essence of Maturidi teachings, and other important issues.

At the end of the conference, it is planned to adopt a final declaration that will allow the study of the scientific heritage and teachings of Imam Maturidi to reach a new level.
