The President got acquainted with the activities of new enterprises of the Urgench cluster

During his visit to the Khorezm region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of new enterprises of the Urgench cluster.

It was emphasized that the cluster has been established for 5 years. Today it is a complete "chain" that covers all processes, from the cultivation of raw cotton to the production of ready-made clothing. Its system employs 3 thousand people.

The entrepreneur processes 100 percent of the cotton grown on an area of ​​​​8,500 hectares. For this, there are cotton ginning and oil mills.

Recently, the cluster's spinning and weaving capacity has increased. Two more enterprises have been launched with additional investments. Modern equipment was imported from Germany, Japan and Turkey and installed.

A training and practice center has been established at the enterprise. Tailors and designers are first trained here and then put to work.

As a result, production volumes have increased significantly. The capacity to produce about 10,800 tons of yarn and 3 million pieces of sewing products per year has been created.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the new factories and inspected the work process and finished products. He spoke with female seamstresses. He was interested in their monthly salaries and working conditions.

A large part of the high-quality clothing produced here is exported. The annual export potential of the enterprise is about 28 million dollars.
