A solemn event dedicated to the 249th anniversary of the country's independence was held at the US Embassy in Tashkent. Assistant to the President Saida Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov also attended the event.
Assistant to the President Saida Mirziyoyev participated in a solemn reception organized today, May 2, on the occasion of US Independence Day.

“I believe that the ties of friendship and partnership between our countries will continue to be strengthened on the basis of mutual respect and common interests,” Saida Mirziyoyeva wrote on her Telegram channel.

Speaking at the event, US Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick congratulated those gathered on the event organized to mark the 249th anniversary of the country's independence.

“Countries, like people, cannot choose their neighbors, but they can choose companions to travel with. The United States of America is choosing to be such a companion with Uzbekistan. We believe that security, sovereignty, and prosperity are best built together through cooperation and understanding,” the ambassador said in his speech.
