Emergency service employees caught with bribes. What happened?

Law enforcement agencies have once again uncovered a serious violation of the law. This time, representatives of the system responsible for citizens’ safety themselves are suspected of disregarding the law.

What happened? Where did this take place?
In the emergency services departments of Tuprakqala and Shovot districts in Khorezm region, two employees are accused of abusing their official positions. This was reported by the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes.

What specific actions were committed?
The rescuer in Tuprakqala promised a resident of Khazarasp district to arrange a job for him in the Ministry of Emergency Situations. In exchange, he demanded 1,500 US dollars. He was caught red-handed during an operation while receiving $400 and 1.3 million soums.

What about the employee in Shovot?
He acted similarly, gaining another person’s trust. He promised to arrange a driver’s license and received $1,400 and another 1.3 million soums. This incident was also officially documented.

What measures were taken regarding these cases?
Criminal cases have been initiated under Articles 168 (fraud) and 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. Investigations have begun.

Are there such cases in other regions as well?
Unfortunately, yes. Recently, the deputy head of the Tashkent city emergency department was also detained on suspicion of bribery. It was revealed that he used his official powers for personal gain when accepting construction objects, approving project documentation, and certifying fire safety equipment.

These illegal actions were detected by the State Security Service during special anti-corruption operations.
