A security officer at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov was caught red-handed while taking a bribe from a citizen in exchange for offering a job position.
According to the State Security Service, the individual promised to secure a job in the airport's security unit through his “connections” and demanded $500. He was apprehended during an operation conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Preliminary investigations revealed that he had taken money ranging from $500 to $1,000 from nearly 10 people, promising them jobs at the airport.
A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 168 and 211 of the Criminal Code. Authorities are now identifying other victims.
