The road accident that occurred in Tashkent city caused not only surprise but also concern. According to videos circulating on social media, a truck entered the lane where vehicles were standing and damaged them one by one. This incident did not go unnoticed by the public.
It was established that this incident occurred on August 1 at approximately 13:30 on Choshtepa Street in the Yangihayot district. The cause was that the truck driver fell asleep at the wheel due to fatigue.
The driver had departed early in the morning from the city of Kokand in Fergana region and, without resting, was returning back when he closed his eyes.
At that moment, the vehicle lost control and crashed into a series of cars that had stopped at a red traffic light.
According to official information, the truck damaged the following cars: two Lacettis, Captiva, Spark, Onix, Malibu 2, Cobalt, Hyundai, and Tracker 2.
Thus, a total of at least 10 vehicles were damaged. Some of the cars were heavily damaged, and the rear part of some was completely destroyed.
In the video footage, it can be seen that during the accident, drivers tried to react and protect themselves upon seeing the truck coming, but some still took the hit.
The most relieving part of this terrible scene is that no one was injured. This makes the outcome of the incident relatively light.
According to the Tashkent City Road Safety Service, the driver's health is fine; he fell asleep not due to illness, but due to fatigue.
Currently, the relevant authorities are conducting an investigation. The driver is being questioned, and it is being clarified under what conditions he was driving and whether he had rest time.
It is also being investigated to whom the truck belongs, what cargo it was carrying, and its technical condition.
The public, through this case, is once again realizing the importance of adhering to working and resting standards for long-distance drivers.

Road safety experts recommend drivers rest before long trips, undergo mandatory checks, and take at least a two-hour break.
