In Tashkent, a truck transporting large-sized special equipment caused a major road accident. This incident not only posed a threat to other road users but also inflicted serious damage to the city's infrastructure, according to the press service of Hududgazta'minot JSC.
The incident occurred in the Khonobod mahalla of the Sergeli district of the capital. The heavy-duty truck, having lost control, crashed into a medium-pressure gas pipeline located by the roadside. As a result of the collision, the pipe was severely damaged, and five local wholesale consumers were left without gas supply.
During the incident, a MAN passenger bus was also damaged. The extent of the damage to the bus has not yet been determined, but visible damage has been reported. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the economic and infrastructural losses are considered serious.
Hududgazta'minot and local gas services are taking urgent measures. Special equipment has been deployed to restore the pipeline and resume gas supply. The scene has been cordoned off, and safety measures have been put in place.
Local residents emphasized that after such incidents, the movement of large trucks must be strictly controlled, especially in densely populated areas, and restrictions should be introduced.
An official investigation into the incident has begun. The driver’s actions and the technical condition of the vehicle are being examined. A separate assessment of the damage to the bus is also underway.
Such unforeseen events encourage the public to be more conscious and alert. Cooperation and oversight are particularly important in ensuring the safety of transport and utility services.
