An attempted murder in Fergana region has caused a major stir among local residents. According to reports, a 24-year-old man attacked a close relative of his former lover with a knife, attempting to kill him.
The incident took place in the Buvayda district. According to court records, the young man had prepared for the crime in advance: he had placed a cold weapon — a knife — in his car beforehand. Although his former lover was already married, the accused had not cut off contact with her. After the woman’s husband and his relatives learned about this, a sharp conflict arose between the parties.
The woman’s relatives and her husband invited the young man to a meeting. What began as an ordinary conversation turned into a heated quarrel within minutes. Unable to control his emotions, the young man ran to his car, took the knife he had brought in advance, and delivered several blows to the man. The stab wounds struck the victim’s chest, thigh, and abdominal area.
The victim’s life was saved by other participants of the conflict who provided timely assistance. If the help had been delayed, the likelihood of a fatal outcome would have been very high.
During the trial, it was established that the accused had planned his actions in advance. For this reason, Articles 25 and 57 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (preparation for murder and attempted murder) were applied, and on the basis of Article 97, he was found guilty.
By the court’s verdict, the young man was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment in a general regime colony. He was sent to serve his sentence in full.
Local residents are drawing a serious and alarming conclusion from this case: a single moment of giving in to emotions can completely change a person’s fate.
