New data released by the National Statistics Committee has drawn the attention of many interested in the country’s marriage dynamics.
According to the figures, the total number of officially registered marriages in 2024 reached 271.8 thousand.
It was revealed that among them, thousands of people aged 50 and above also got married.
In particular, last year the number of those who married at the age of 50 or older reached 6,433.
This figure shows that people of different ages decide to continue their life journey together.
It is worth noting that 1,430 of those in this category are women.
This means that more than a thousand women took the step to marry even after the age of 50.
The remaining 5,003 are men, indicating that the desire to start a new family is also high among older men.
Experts note that marriages after 50 are often based on life experience, stability, and conscious decision-making.
Such families prioritize mutual support, equal relationships, and a realistic approach to life.
At the same time, sociologists link this trend to social changes, increased life expectancy, and improved health opportunities.
They believe that the idea of being able to build a happy life at any age is becoming increasingly widespread.
Thus, official data shows that age is not a barrier to marriage.
Thousands of people who got married after 50 are living proof of this fact.
